More on the Lenten Series, from Father Brian:
The devotional series, Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John, is designed to reflect on the person of Jesus, His mission and His message, as presented in the writings of John in his Gospel and letters. You will receive a beautiful prayer journal that will walk you prayerfully through daily excerpts of the Gospel of John and the Letters of John, and, if you wish, you can watch short videos each day, delivered to your e-mail box and hosted by an SSJE Brother. He will reflect on what that day’s verse meant to him and will make suggestions for prayers. We will come together weekly to reflect on the Gospel’s messages. Cost : $3.00 for journal.
RSVPs needed email@example.com or call 927-3239
Voice of Vestry: The Vestry had their retreat on Monday February 5, and members felt that good progress was made toward establishing major goals for the year. They have decided to meet the 2nd Thursday of each month at 3 pm. Their next meeting will be March 8th.
Welcome to Jeff Mar- Jeff will be conducting the Open Pew Singers. Say hello when you see him.
Key Inventory- Key holders no longer involved in any ministries, please return your keys to the office so that they can be redistributed to those who need them. Thanks!
St. Stephen’s fundraiser, Feb. 14 and 18. Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves will be part of the Feb 14th cast. More info on the Parish Hall bulletin boar or check this week’s Ticket inside today’s Tribune.
Helen A., now living up north, has finally healed from a large, chronic debilitating wound that has plagued her for over a year, and for the most part, kept her confined to her daughter’s house. She thanks you for your prayers and support.
Mary B continues to recover (slowly, but surely) from shoulder surgery.
Miyo and Marg. are still at “Cambria South” in SLO Town.
Marg. still is not up to visitors. We wish all of these ladies the best of luck with their recoveries, and send love to all three of them.
Volunteer Schedules for March and April are now being developed. Anyone who has dates on which they won’t be available to serve should send them to me (and also to Carol Schutz if you are a 10:30 am volunteer). If you are available to serve on Easter Sunday at the early or choral service, or are able to serve on Maundy Thursday or on Good Friday ( Stations or at the later worship service), please indicate that as well. (Easter falls on April 1st this year.)
Adult Wellness Clinic returns to Cambria- The clinic, which offers low-cost lipid panel screening and a variety of free services such as anemia and blood sugar screening, will now offer services from 9 am to noon on the 2nd Monday of every month at the Joslyn Center at 950 Main St. The next opportunity to take advantage of the clinic’s services is Monday, February 12. (This is the same program that met in our Parish Hall until about 1 year ago.)
Ever get tired of cooking for 1, or 2? Try having lunch at the Senior Nutrition meal site any weekday. Though donations are cheerfully accepted, none are required. The site serves nutritious meals Monday through Friday at 11:40 am in our Parish Hall. Personally, I like the roast turkey, roasted chicken or chicken stew. (Sorry for the “fowl” remarks!) So try the meal site sometime! Call 927-1268 to reserve your meal 2 days in advance. Note: Drivers are also needed to deliver meals to the homebound. Inquire at the phone number listed above.
Reach out and touch someone: Sending hugs to Dan and Carolyn Golowka and all of Joe and Phyllis’ family.
