July 9, 2015
Dear Church Family,
What glorious weather we’ve been having! Definitely time to get outdoors and take in all of God’s creation!
Here are your weekly updates for July 9, 2015:
Sunday, July 12th: 8 am and 10:30 am services . Welcome Back, Father Brian!
Monday: Senior Health Screening,
Watering volunteers: If you forgot the week you are scheduled to water, please note
that a copy of the schedule is posted in
the parish hall. This week: S & F Johnson; Week of July 13: Doug Wong. A call to our water hauler has been made for another water delivery.
Wednesday Bible study, 6 pm. The assigned readings for Wed. July 15 (for Sun July 19) are Jeremiah 23:1-6, Ephesians 2:11-22 and Mark 6:30-34,53-56.
Saturday, July 18: HE and Hike with The Rev. Barbara Miller, San Simeon Point. Meet in the pier’s parking lot at 12:45 pm. The walk will start promptly at 1 pm.
Irene Jochim update: The Jochim family will not be holding any type of service for Irene.
Many thanks to Julian Crocker for volunteering to serve as one of our Convention delegates. One more parishioner delegate would bring us into compliance with Diocesan expectations.
Help us keep our utility bills manageable. This week, the water was left on in the parish hall sometime after 1:30 pm Tuesday, according to Jesse Miller; and lights were left on in the lower building’s office sometime Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning. Your cooperation in helping keep our utility costs down is greatly appreciated.
Scare Crew: We have one volunteer willing to work on a scarecrow for October’s Festival. One or two others would really be helpful. A male scarecrow used previously is available as a launching point for a makeover. If you enjoy seeing scarecrows displayed in front of the church property during the Festival, this is your chance to help preserve that tradition.
Volunteer Schedules: The new schedule will publish next week. 10:30 folks, please email Carol Schutz (and copy me) by this Sunday (12th) if you are unable to serve on any particular dates. I will be formulating the 8 am and 9:30 am schedules, so 8 am volunteers, please email your unavailable dates to me , also by July 12th. PLEASE WRITE “VOL. DATES” IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE EMAILS, IN ALL CASES. Thanks.
