A busy week and very meaningful start to Lent yesterday… Wasn’t it great to have Father Brian with us?
Our website: To make it easier to visit our website, I will try to include the address in my weekly updates. Leonard is doing a great job as our webmaster, so please check out the site. www.stpaulscambria.org.
Jeanne Gerhardt: Please continue to pray for Jeanne Gerhardt’s comfort and to honor the request made by her family to not visit or call her. The family will update us when they can, but they also need some time to rest as they travel alongside Jeanne in her journey.
Father Brian’s sermons: A few of you have already asked how you might obtain copies of Father Brian’s sermons. I will be speaking with Father Brian about that once he returns to Cambria.
WEDNESDAYS DURING LENT:
Various prayer services at 5 pm, followed by a Soup Supper. SIGN-UP SHEET FOR SOUP SUPPERS IS NOW POSTED IN THE PARISH HALL! We still need some help with bread and folks to set up and/or clean up. Thanks to all of our soup hosts who filled every slot that was open! Your help with this annual tradition is greatly appreciated.
ONE MORE 8:00 AM SUNDAY WREATH/CANDLE READER IS NEEDED!
See the sign-up sheet in the parish hall to volunteer.
HIKE AND EUCHARIST: The next SLO Deanery Hike is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2015 on the Painted Rock trail located in the Carrizo Plain National Monument. We will meet at the trail parking
area at 12:45pm and begin walking promptly at 1:00 pm. All ages are welcome. The easy trail is about a 1.5 miles round trip with very
little elevation change. We will have a stationed Eucharist stopping at several points along the way to begin the service, listen to scripture, have a short time of silence, and end with Communion amidst the
rocks. Directions to the Painted Rock Trail can be found at http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/bakersfield/Programs/carrizo/cpnm_directions.html. If you have any questions please call the Rev. Barbara Miller at 805-712-0650.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTER RECERTIFICATION is required every three years. This year the training will be held Wednesday, February 25, 7pm @ St Peters. Eucharistic Volunteer training will occur on the 26th. Contact Barbara Miller: firstname.lastname@example.org to register or for more info.
SUNDAY THE 22ND: Pastor Don will serve as Celebrant at our two services.
WEDNESDAY, THE 25TH: Jim Wilson will lead us in prayer (Order of Compline) at 5 PM before our 1st soup supper.
Have a great weekend!
