Amazing weather this week…but of course, we would also jump for joy if we received a little rain, right?
Here are some important announcements:
Sunday, October 5: We will hold one service only….at 9:30 am. There will be a 2nd offering for Diocesan Missionary Maurice Dyer to help support his efforts in South Africa. Folks interested in supporting his work can make checks out to St. Paul’s, memo line: Diocesan missionary. Offering envelopes will be attached to this Sunday’s bulletin. It’s also Birthday Sunday! Also, at coffee hour: Senior Warden Julian Crocker will provide a brief update on the search process and answer any questions the congregation has about our time of transition.
Note: If you’re interested in knowing which supply priest is serving on which Sunday, check the volunteer schedule in the Parish Hall. Names are noted in the far left column. The following week’s supply priest is also always noted on your bulletin’s calendar page.
-Search Committee meets next Tuesday, October 7, at 3 pm.
-ATTN VESTRY: Your meeting next week did not make it onto the calendar in this Sunday’s bulletin. Please note that your meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am on Wednesday, October 8th.
Outreach will soon be identifying on which upcoming Sunday they will be collecting the coin cups, so time to clean out under the sofa cushions, or inside the household junk drawer or purse, gather up that loose change and “pay it forward”.
Thursday, October 9: The parish office will close promptly at noon so that I can attend a deanery-wide meeting for parish administrators.
The answer to last week’s trivia question: The Rev. F. Augustus Martyr was the first rector of All Saints Episcopal Church (now Anglican) in Long Beach, serving until 1952. Their parish hall is named after him. He is the uncle of Bill Baker.
Identify the word..the answer will appear next week. Enjoy! Have a great weekend and thanks for reading my notes each week!
